YCC was established in 1977 and started its operations in 1979 when it commissioned two of its long dry kilns each 1500 tpd at Ras Baridi 60km north of the
city of Yanbu on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. The company commissioned its third long dry kiln with a capacity of 1000tpd in 1982 thus increasing the
total plant capacity to 1.2 million tons one year. All three kilns were supplied, installed, and commissioned by the reputable German company KHD Humboldt
Wedag Ag.

New Improvements generate SR 14 Million annual savings for Yanbu Cement Company.

Yanbu Cement Co. (YCC) has recently signed a contract for SR (20) Million with M/s Pillard of Germany to upgrade the burning and storage systems of the three kilns of its old cement plant in Yanbu to utilise heavy fuel oil. (HFO 380 Cst.) instead of crude oil.On the completion of the Project YCC will be able to realize annual savings of SR (14) Million in its cement production cost. In this respect ,YCC is the first Saudi Company to successfully use HFO 380 Cst as fuel in its burning systems of the new expansion project. The signing ceremony which took place at YCC's head office in Jeddah in which Dr.Saud.S.Islam, Board Member & Director General signed on behalf of YCC And Mr.E.Kirhhoff on behalf of Pillard Feuerungen GmbH. This project is expected to be completed within 9 months and commissioned in January 2002.
