Portland cement is a hydraulic binding material
which is made from a finely ground mixture of
components containing CaCO3..(limestone),
SiO2 and Al2O3 (clay, marl) and Fe2O3 (roasted pyrites and rich clays). The mixture should be so composed that the proportion of basic constituents (CaO) is about 1.7 times the proportion of acid constituents (SiO2,Al2O3 ,Fe2O3).
