Company Profile

Yanbu Cement Company (YCC), a Saudi joint stock company, is one of the major cement manufacturers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the largest cement company in the Western Region with a total installed capacity above 7.0 million tons of clinker and cement dispatch capacity above 10.0 million tons per annum. Yanbu Cement is ranked as one of the top 50 companies in KSA with a paid up capital of SR 1.575 billion.  Its manufacturing facilities are located at Ras Baridi, on the coast of the Red Sea, 70 KM north-west of the Port of Yanbu. Yanbu Cement’s corporate office is located at Jeddah.

YCC was established in 1977 and started its operations in 1979, when it commissioned two of its long dry process kilns of 1500 tpd clinker each followed by the third long dry process kiln with a capacity of 1000 tpd clinker in 1982, totaling the plant capacity to 1.28 million tons of clinker per year (Lines 1,2,3). All the three kilns were supplied, installed and commissioned by KHD Humboldt Wedag AG of Germany.

In 1997, the company expanded its capacity by commissioning of 7000 tpd kiln (Line 4), which was upgraded to a capacity of 8500 tpd in 2005.  This state-of-the art kiln, which was the largest of its kind in the entire Middle East at the time, was also supplied and erected by KHD Humboldt Wedag AG.  YCC further expanded its capacity by another 10,000 tpd kiln (Line 5), in 2011 which was supplied, erected and commissioned by Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd., China.

In 2016 by implementing performance management initiatives, Line 4 and 5 kilns are currently producing 9,000 tpd and 12,000 tpd respectively.
